- Overture to the Wasps, composed by Ralph Vaughan Williams for a Greek play after studying with Maurice Ravel in Paris.
- Camilla Saint-Seans’ Dance Macabre, a scandalous piece of music with risqué xylophone.
- Vaughan Williams’ Variations for Wind Band, a theme and 11 variations with a variety of moods and styles.
- Browning (The Leaves be Green), a popular tune of the late 16th century, featuring guest artists Janet Bebb, Martin Sobelman, and Boyd Osgood.
- Claude Debussy’s Sarabande, with sensuous harmonies and delicate lines.
- Percy Grainger’s Lincolnshire Posy, one of the most famous compositions for wind band.
- Henry Fillmore’s Klaxon March, a commission he received to compose a ‘showstopper’ as advertising for the 1930 Cincinnati Auto Show.
The show starts at 7 p.m. on April 20 at Corbet Theatre in Centralia. $12 general admission. Students free with paying adult.
